Exciting things are happening at OPEN DOOR now, and 2007 promises to be a new adventure in service to children as far as we can reach.
The Board of Directors our agencies have voted to merge the two companies into one stronger company. Soon, you will see the new name OPEN DOOR INTERNATIONAL on our letterhead. In early 2007 we are also planning a major revision of our website to reflect the merger and the combines programs the new company offers.
OPEN DOOR INTERNATIONAL is reviving a sister agency in Puerto Rico called CARE CARIBE to provide homestudies and social work visits to the homes of foster children placed in Puerto Rico by agencies from the States. Look for information here if your agency would like to contract for services in Puerto Rico, or call my office directly at (407) 381-3400.
Our efforts to solicit funds to support various programs in Southeast Asia also continue and we are optimistic that 2007 will be a banner year. We currently support several children's homes in Vietnam, and would like to offer more programs to other Southeast Asian nations. Following visits and meetings in Taiwan, Thailand, and China, we hope to initiate at least one new program in 2007.
OPEN DOOR is now researching our options for becoming involved in international adoptions. Keep an eye on our website for more information as this exciting new program develops.
We are pleased to have had our website translated into several languages with the help of some dedicated translators and editors. I would like to recognize them for their hard work and commitment to helping OPEN DOOR. Their assistance is greatly appreciated. I have listed their names below and extend our gratitude. Watch for more languages as we continue to open doors in new lands.
Sincerely,
Paul Langley, Jr., M.A.R.
