Open Door is open to foster children of all ages, both male and female, and different ethnic backgrounds and religions. You are welcome to give us guidelines as to the type of child you feel you could work with successfully.

   Foster parents are reimbursed on a monthly basis for the child's expenses plus other considerations. Medical and dental bills are covered by other means, except for some minor charges.

   Foster parenting requires patience, dedication, understanding, compassion, stability, flexibility, and lots of love. It can be both a very challenging as well as a very rewarding experience.

   Open Door works with you in a team approach so you always have a resource to turn to when you need some answers or guidance.

   If you feel comfortable with the answers you receive, we will be glad to schedule an appointment with you to visit your home and meet with you personally. At that point, you can begin the process of filling out the necessary paperwork to become foster parents.
